Taking Behavioral Health Education Beyond the Couch
Going Beyond the Couch™ was founded on one conviction: every young person deserves access to behavioral health education, regardless of their zip code, school budget, or whether they ever walk into a therapist’s office.
Traditional therapy is transformative. It’s also inaccessible to most of the young people who need it most. Going Beyond the Couch™ bridges that gap, bringing evidence-based, trauma-informed programming directly into the schools and community organizations where young people already spend their time.
The result is not therapy. It’s something arguably more scalable: educational programming that teaches the same emotional and identity skills, delivered by trained facilitators in group settings, to students who would never otherwise access support.
We built this because we kept seeing the same thing in our practices: the young people who needed this work the most were the furthest from getting it. So we took it to them.
